Two weeks after Typhoon Odette (Rai) hit the south eastern parts of the Philippines, our kababayans are still recovering from its aftermath. In numbers, there have been 1,072,538 affected families 4,176,567 affected individuals 561,459 people have been displaced 397 were killed 1147 injured 83 still missing
Until today, there are still cities that still do not have power and water. Communities are demanding the Philippine government to release the calamity funds and to respond quicker to provide immediate relief and assistance.
For our next beneficiary, donations will go to the Consortium for People's Development - Disaster Response (CPD-DR), a national, multi-stakeholder consortium of development and humanitarian organizations for people-centered disaster relief and rehabilitation initiatives.
They are currently soliciting support to help the affected communities. They will be providing immediate relief and help the affected families to rebuild their homes and livelihoods. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email us at migrantecanada@gmail.com.
